When asked – what connects us with Chateau Saint Maur? – the answer is: it’s complicated.
Firstly, the place is really pleasant and well situated. Perfectly localized for tourists, about 10 minutes away from Saint Tropez, in the town of Cogolin.

You can see the Grimaud castle on the hill in the distance. The grand scale so characteristic for Chateau. I found a great little shop, where I noticed outstanding cosmetics and bought some excellent soap! I have to say that although the service was quite nervous at the same time it was really good.

What can you find here? Hmm… Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Rolle, of course. However, it gets much worse when it comes to wines. They are flat, without any depth or flair. Just as if you have come across a pedantic, vapid, toneless man. The only wine which earned our approval was Saint Maur Rouge 2017. There is a delicate smell of a barn, but if you eventually reach for this wine, you will not be sorry. It surprises us with clearness, strength and a bit of sophistication. I recommend it. Though, the soap comes first! It is great with its beauty, intensiveness as well as its soothing smell. Well…

You should visit this place no matter what. At least for a moment. I am sure you will find something for yourself in Chateau Saint-Maur. They have a bar here. One can seat and fully relax.
