Do you remember the Wine from Lizards and De Wulf family together with Chateau de Vaucouleurs? Definitely visit Domaine Jas d’Esclans?
Today I present you Domaine Jas d’Esclans, which is the next place owned by the De Wulf family and that means that I am taking you on a journey to get AOP Cotes de Provence organic wines. La Motte, where Domaine Jas d’Esclans is situated, is still the red, light land and the great Mediterranean climate. I have to admit that although the service speaks mainly a really fluent French, they did everything they could to make us feel at home. The atmosphere of tasting was incredibly pleasant and resulted in a promising purchase on our side. With time and the amount of wine we have drunk I can clearly say that it was really worth stocking up here. I was enchanted by the red one – Cuvee Du Loup 2015 which is 75% of Syrah, 15% of Mourvèdre and 15% of Grenache and 12 months of sitting, or if you like – lying, in barrels. Those barrels – the oak, black fruit, vanilla… Well… Just pure perfection for carnivorous cheese eaters.
The next red wine is Coup de Foudres 2015 with 50% of Syrah, 20% of Grenache, 15% of Mourvèdre and 15% of Carignan and 24 months in barrels. It was complex, balanced, full of freedom and strength.
The sparking wines lovers will also find something for themselves in this vineyard. Each of us have a wolf at home… There are no debonair gates, Provencal buildings and any art inside the art, but I do recommend visiting this place and its picturesque surroundings only to go back to Lizards, which is Chateau de Vaucouleurs, just a moment later.
