These factors include soil, terrain and access to watercourses but also the climate as well as the way of the managing of the vineyard. Mountainous terrain and the valley or colder north and hot south have an undeniable direct influence on the type and style of wine. However, the terroir is a fashionable accent that goes much further that is it divides us from one another within the same area. And so our wines shall have unique terroir. Well, whether you are a wine aficionado or a classifier it is incredible to discover in a glass if the wine originates from loess, limestone or the vineyard is situated in a higher location, sense the wind and the sea breeze. If we additionally experience the passion and character of the man who produced the wine, we can peacefully immerse ourselves in the contemplation of terroir.

Climate

The climate is an influential factor as it promotes winegrapes growth and thus wine quality. The climate of the vineyard in Provence is the Mediterranean climate of Provence. It is characterized by small temperature fluctuations throughout the year, the summers are hot and dry, and the average annual insolation exceeds 2700 hours. Precipitation is moderately rare, mainly in autumn, although in recent years the amount of rainfall has been increasing according to some and diminishing according to others. Winds can be sturdy, and the mistral has already gained the first place of the popularity in storytelling

Soil

The term that comes to mind is diversity: calcareous marine sediments, Massif de Maures and Tanneron consist of shale, granite, sandstone and alluvial sands. Around Mount Sainte-Victoire the soils are limestone, sandstone and loam. Near Bassin du Beausset and in Bandol you will find limestone, jurassic and sandstone soil. Everywhere there are fragile soils, without excess moisture, well-drained but often sensitive to erosion.
